Hana & Jessie-Lee’s Bad Habits are an Australian outfit known for their electrifying live shows, sharp lyrics, and a dynamic blend of alt-country, rock ’n’ roll, and soul. Fronted by Hana Brenecki’s gritty, emotionally rich vocals & Jessie-Lee Zubkevych’s commanding guitar work, with backing by the burning rhythm section of Kate Alexander and Julia Watt, the band delivers a modern, genre-defying take on country music.
Formed over a decade ago by two former punk-scene musicians, the duo’s debut album Southlands (2017) made waves with its raw honesty, landing them Australian festival slots at WOMADelaide, Out on the Weekend, and more, as well as support gigs for Jason Isbell (USA), Cold Chisel (Aus), and Kasey Chambers (Aus).
Their sophomore album Say What You Mean (2024), recorded by ARIA-nominated producer Alexander O’Gorman, took their sound to new heights winning the 2024 Music Victoria Award for Best Country Work and Double J’s Tower of Song of the Year.
Since the album’s release, the band has performed at some of Australia’s biggest music festivals as well as supporting US country star Nikki Lane and renowned Australian songwriter Mick Thomas, touring extensively and building a devoted national following in their home country.
Individually, the members of Hana & Jessie-Lee’s Bad Habits are no strangers to the European touring circuit (as past and current members of Cash Savage & The Last Drinks, La Bastard, Moody Beaches & Party Pest) but 2026 sees the band’s EU debut, with their latest album “Say What You Mean” due for release for the first time in Europe on Beast Records (France).
